Increase Shovel
Productivity The output from
the shovel has been decreasing and year to date; the shovel is 24% behind
budget for volume moved and 18% behind in production rates. A Six Sigma project was run to
identify root causes and implement improvements. It was found that dig plan deficiencies and shovel training
inconsistencies were the main root causes. Improvements to dig planning, training delivery and performance analysis
have been successfully implemented. 5.00% increase was achieved in hourly
tonnes of overburden removal per operator over six months which is equivalent
to $4.2m in benefits. |
